Obituary of Katherine Marie Oblack

Mya (Katherine) Oblack, 92, a lifelong resident of Molalla, died on Friday, April 29, 2011 at a Molalla assisted living facility. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 10th at 11:00 am, at the Foothills Community Church in Molalla, Oregon. A reception will follow at the church. Private burial will take place at Adams Cemetery. Molalla Funeral Chapel is entrusted with her services. Mya was born September 8, 1918 in Molalla, the daughter of Andrew and Louise Johnson. She Married Beanie (Albin) Oblack on March 19, 1939. Mya and Beanie happily lived on their Cascade foothills farm above Dickey Prairie for many years where they raised their three children. Mya was invovled in many community activities and will be truly missed. Survivors include her husband, Beanie (Albin) Oblack; twin-daughters, Carolyn Sweet and son-in-law Jim Sweet and Marilyn Dokken and son-in-law Bill Dokken; 1 son Bob Oblack and daughter-in-law Thila Oblack; 2 sisters Ellen Thronson and Hannah Schink and brother-in-law Chet Schink; 17 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to the Molalla River Watch, Inc., P.O. Box 867, Molalla, Oregon 97038 or to the Colton Fire District #70, 20987 S. Hwy, Colton, Oregon 97017 Family is encouraged to provide an obituary or information that allows for an obituary to be written by our staff
