Obituary of Madeline Elaine Kummer Walch

Madeline Elaine Kummer Walch passed away April 16, 2021. A viewing at the Canby Funeral Chapel will be April 23, 2021, 2:00-5:00pm.

She was a wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, good friend, enthusiastic gardener and homemaker. She was organized, loved movies (including foreign and art house), very thoughtful, kind, intelligent, and funny. She kept her environs orderly.

Madeline was born in Oregon City to John and Mary Kummer (Koch), and became sister to Ronald Kummer. She graduated from Canby High School in 1964; married Donald Leonard Walch May 22, 1965. She attended vocational school and became a bookkeeper at Hudson House, eventually leaving to become a full-time homemaker. Madeline was a lifelong, active member of Macksburg Lutheran Church. She lived her whole life in the neighborhood she grew up in, and she was happy with the life she had in the Canby area. She lived at the house she built with Don for 56 years.

She is survived by her husband, two children, Michelle and Christopher, and granddaughter Bahiyyih.

Special thanks to her church family for prayers and love during this difficult time.
