Ramona Notz

Obituary of Ramona Marlene Notz

Ramona Marlene Notz (Bates) was born March 1, 1949, in Vancouver, British Columbia and was the fourth child of seven born to G.A. Bates (Al) and Olga (Sapinsky) (both deceased). God called Ramona home on May 23, 2022. She slipped away peacefully in her home that she loved following a lengthy illness.

The Bates family immigrated from British Columbia, Canada in April 1957. She attended Washington High School in Portland and met and married Al Notz as a teenager. Their marriage produced two sons, Spencer "Dean" and Steven Notz, and remained loving and intact for 55 years.

Ramona and Al created their own slice of Heaven on five acres in Molalla where she attended to every detail with a passion for flowers and plants. She thoroughly enjoyed her 20 plus years as a nursery manager at the Canby Farm Store. Her home was filled with everything she loved and held dear, including numerous family photos and a large rooster collection. She loved all kinds of music and had a beautiful voice. A lifelong Christian, she attended churches throughout her life and e enjoyed Bible study with her sister and her close friends.

Ramona is survived by her husband Al; her sons, Dean (Melissa) and Steve (Kristi); and two grandchildren Julia and Cameron. Ramona's siblings, Darlene (Keith), Joan (Bob), predeceased her. Delrae (Dale) Lammers, Rowena (Donnie) Price, Rodney and Brad Bates are survived.

Ramona was known to be a very kind person, full of love, forgiveness, and eternal support. Her family and friends will miss her in the coming years. Always social and gracious, Ramona will remain in our hearts.

The celebration of Life service will be held at the Canby Funeral Home (160 Grant St., Canby) on June 7, 2022 at 11am, with interment afterwards.
