Obituary of David Harold Wallace
David Harold Wallace was born September 7, 1949, to Harold Burr Wallace and Ruth Anna Holmes Wallace. When his father tragically died when David was only ten, David and his brother Jim rose to the occasion and became father figures to their three younger brothers and infant sister.
At age 20, David joined the Marine Corps to serve his country during the Vietnam War. He later joined the Army, then worked for the National Security Agency, and retired in 2015 after working for the State of Oregon for 20 years. He loved his God, his family, and his country.
David met the love of his life, Patricia Ann Pittman, in the registration line for his senior year of college. They were engaged only six weeks later and married just two days after graduation in the spring. Dave and Patty celebrated their 50th anniversary on June 2, 2023.
David is survived by two brothers, a sister, his wife, six children, and ten grandchildren. Everyone that knew him knew his family was his pride. In the most challenging years of his life, he was known to come home from work and sing to his children. Being surrounded by his loved ones was his greatest joy.
David loved the Lord early in his life and is remembered by all for his unwavering conviction for Christ. His oldest friend (and sister-in-law) remembers him at 12, walking from class to class carrying his Bible. To his dying breath, he praised the Lord, raising his hands to worship music even after losing his ability to speak.
