Obituary of Hurshell Lee Walls

Hurshell Lee Walls was born on July 16, 1934 in Hydro, Oklahoma to Arble William Walls and Ira Madeline Deaton. 

He passed away July 9, 2022 at his home at the age of 87 years, 11 months, 3 weeks and 2 days.

He was married to and is survived by his wife Moretta Joyce Pilgrim of the home.  Preceded in death by his parents, two brothers - William and Billy J. Walls and one sister, Irene Busby.

He is survived by his sister, Inez Mansell of Carter, Oklahoma. Sons Kerry and wife Vonda Walls and Shannon Walls - all of Canby.  Daughter, Brenda and husband Mike Reed of Suwanee, Georgia, Sharon and husband Ryan Jacobsen of Peoria, Arizona.

Grandfather of Justin (Bekah), Lauretta (Tommy), AJ (Britney), Tony (Amanda), Stephen (Katrina), Alex (Sarah), Britnie and Jaden.

Futher survived by great grandchildren - Stryder, Rhoegyn, Hollis, Pheonix, Rayden, Rohen, Aubrey, Alexis, Madison, Nico, Marcus, Kylie, and Tristen, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

He worked in the Oilfield in Texas, Oklahoma, Wyoming and Utah.  He worked for Dobbs Grain Elevator in Illinois.  The family moved to Oregon in 1965.  He was an excellent welder working for Ross Island Sand and Gravel in Portland.

He was a pile driver. A few of the projects he worked on were the I-205 bridge, the St. Johns Bridge and parking structures in Portland.

Community activities include Boy Scouts, baseball coach and he taught the "Sit and Be Fit" exercise class at the Senior Center in Canby.  He was a member of Molalla Assembly of God Church.  He will be greatly missed.
